For Your Information: FYI

General information on what our services offer, and other tips on what to expect during the process.

DO I NEED AN ATTORNEY?

The vast majority of people who file for the K1 visa do NOT use an attorney. AND the vast majority of applications are approved. An Attorney might be an option IF you have a criminal record, especially if it involved domestic violence. Then we’d advise hiring an attorney. Simple DUI or misdemeanor is generally not a problem. 95% of you will NOT need an attorney for this process.

COST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ATTORNEY AND US VISA EXPERTS ?

Our fee is $595.00 dollars. Most Attorneys will charge well over $2500.00. They will do the same job that we will do. Remember, these Attorney are doing many other legal filings and are not specialists in the K1 visa. WE ARE. WE ONLY do family visas to the USA. That’s it. We are the specialists in this field.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS VISA?

Probably the number one question we get. Please go to this link on our website: (CLICK HERE)

HOW LONG WILL THIS TAKE?

We turn things around within a few days. It’s generally the client that takes time gathering the information needed for us to complete the Government applications, letters of intent, cover letters and put the package together. Once filed, if no delays for missing info, incorrect documents, unsigned, expired forms, etc, you’re looking at between 8 to 9 months. There is no way to expedite this, as in some other visa types. The best you can do is make sure ALL documents, forms, payment and supportive evidence are correct on the first filing. We make sure that happens.

CAN I DO THIS MYSELF?

Sure, many people do. And many people succeed, EVENTUALLY. As complex as this filing is, it’s tough to get it right the first time. Forms change and even Immigration changes weekly. What worked last year or even last month with your friend may be totally different now. MOST info you get online, forums and social media is either outdated, not specific to your case or just plain wrong. Every case is viewed separately and yours needs to be tailored to your specific situation.

BUT I CAN’T AFFORD TO PAY $595.00 EXTRA FOR THIS SERVICE

I’ll be blunt: If you can’t afford to pay $595.00 for this service, we strongly recommend that you do NOT try to bring in a foreign person to the USA, simply because you can not afford it! Think about it. If 595.00 (a one-time fee) is a struggle, bringing in someone to support in the USA is really out of the question. It is also likely that you are unable to meet the financial requirements of the Government.

HOW MUCH DO I NEED TO MAKE TO SPONSOR MY K1 FIANCE?

The Government basis it’s requirement on 125% above the National Poverty Level. For round numbers, that means approximately for a household of 2 persons, the Sponsor must make at least $21,600 per year. Add $5000 to that, per person in the household. (Children, parents, brothers or sisters, etc.) You can get a “joint” sponsor, but that adds another level to this complicated issue. We can help work thru these issues.

WE HAVEN'T MET YET. IS THAT A PROBLEM?

YES, that is a problem. The US Government requires that you must have met “in person” within two years of filing your application. It does not matter where you met, but you will need to prove it.

I HAVE A GREEN CARD. CAN I SPONSOR MY GIRLFRIEND FOR A K1 VISA?

NO. You must be a US citizen to sponsor a K1 visa application. HOWEVER, you can marry her outside of the USA and sponsor her in with a CR-1 Spousal Visa. We also handle many of these.
